DR ANAND PONNUSAMY
I’ve been practicing dentistry in the private sector for 10 years. I grew up in India where I graduated from Annamalai University in 2008. I immigrated to Australia in 2010 and completed my Masters in Dental Public & Primary Health in 2012 at UWA. I am also a proud member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
I have a vision of taking the feeling of fear and anxiety away from patients who tend to associate them with every visit to the dentist. Therefore, since practicing I have developed a special interest in laser dentistry, where I’m currently completing a masters with LA&HA (Ljubljana, Slovenia), which will make me specially trained for hard and soft tissue laser procedures to be used in both dental and cosmetic treatment. These skills will allow me to make my vision a reality and making dental procedures a more pleasant experience for every patient.
I have also undergone CEREC Advanced training with Spear Education (Scottsdale, Arizona, USA), which is the management of worn dentition. This uses facially generated treatment planning to customise a smile design to meet individual patients’ needs.
I would describe myself as a good team player and a very friendly and fun-loving individual who enjoys all aspects of dentistry. I have an 18 month old son who keeps me on my toes and I also love to travel. My other hobbies include listening to music and bush-walking.
